The songs on this EP are the first released by QOU* that are not entirely produced by QOU*. With producer Onhell forming the basis of the tracks, the structures and the haunting and sometimes strange lyrics and top lines were created by QOU*,  in a kind of second skin. Unconscious matter is given an equal platform alongside the subjects of PTSD and loss.
There is as much fantasy as truth here, but it's up to the listener to decide which is which.

Love & War is therapy in altrock form. While much of it expresses the anger and desperation felt when you are burnt out on life and there is nothing there to catch you, picking up the guitar in a quiet, dark place and writing, helps process pain and reconnect with all emotions. When you live in full awareness of the horrors of the world, it’s difficult just waking up each day, but cynicism is the flip side of romanticism: you can only give up and give in if you believed in the first place. is an energetic alt rock tune about the frustration of mental strain and frustration of going over old ground, whether that be repeating the same stories in a psychiatrists office, or the drudgery of endless small talk with people you don’t know. The first release from the full band EP – LOVE & WAR.

“Ultimately it’s all about being heard, the bands I grew up listening to have saved my life many times, I want to do the same for others, I may be a loner, but I know I’m not alone” – Queen of Uncool.

With threats against their identity and their right to create, Queen of Uncool fought back for a short time with nothing but a pair of headphones.
The fight to make music turned into a fight to survive, and Girl Outside was slowly nurtured through these times, to address the issues of survival from angles.
Saying you like one kind of music is like saying all your friends have the same personality- and born out of influences such as Madonna, Kate Bush, Shakespears Sister and 90s dance music, ensures Girl Outside a diverse spectrum of songs.

One day, a fatigued grrl, falls over a bass amp and meets a guy. It might have been a meet cute, but it was a pretty fucked up journey from there.

An EP of songs written
without judgement, from first crush to bitter end. Winter just about sums up the 4 seasons of a love life, with an emphasis on the coldest time.
